The Biography of 3 Doors Down

3 Doors Down is an American Rock band formed by three local boys from Escatawpa Mississippi. In the beginning the band played locally, performing other stars hits as well as some of their own material. These original songs eventually were released on their first album. Brad Arnold, Matt Roberts and Todd Harrell shot to super stardom with their first release, Kryptonite.

When rock bands form you often get a glimpse into who they are by the name they choose, this in not entirely true when it comes to 3 Doors Down. The band had a gig out of town one night and needed a name for the band when they came across a boarded up building with the words "doors down". Since there were three members at the time, 3 Doors Down was the official name of the band and it has no deep underlying meaning. The only thing you could really infer is the fact that this is a group of creative young men.

However, the name of the band was not really inspired by anything more than convenience some of their songs have been. Take for instance the Here Without You lyrics, lead singer Brad Arnold wrote the song and he states that his ex-wife was his inspiration. Brad is quick to point out that the song is not about her so much as inspired by the events surrounding their relationship.
